Fort Ohmu
Overview
The third and smallest of the Outpost Forts, Fort Ohmu was built from hardened clay and dust — fastened together by a powerful Transmuter from the Alabaster Academy. It sits at the eastern end of the border chain, on the edge of the Asharu Desert, and suffers brutal conditions: intense seasonal windstorms sweeping in from the dunes keep soldiers inside for much of the year.
Notable Features
- Desert Construction: Unlike the stone forts to the west, Fort Ohmu was shaped from clay and desert materials by Academy magic. Its construction reflects the scarcity of the region.
- Windstorm Season: Intense seasonal storms from the Asharu Desert regularly pin soldiers indoors, making patrols and responses difficult for extended stretches.
Notable Figures
- Utilis Graal (deceased) — Former commander. Inexplicably leaped from the top tower of the fort. His death has never been fully explained.
Connections
- Easternmost of the three Outpost Forts; the others are Fort Pratchett (west) and Fort Prefect (center)
- Sits on the edge of the Asharu Desert

Recent Developments
Morale has deteriorated since the commander's death, made worse by a replacement widely despised by the troops. The fort is undermanned. Nomad tribes have reported sightings of small humanoid creatures with jackal-like faces moving west across the desert — harassing the few humans who call the region home. Windstorms have so far prevented any effective response.
